Xtra.ca reporter Michael Pihach attends To Haiti With Love 2010, a fundraising event at Toronto's Buddies In Bad Times theatre in support of Haiti earthquake relief and SEROvie, the country's main HIV/AIDS organization for sexual minorities. 14 people at SEROvie were killed following the earthquake, reports the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission.

Upcoming queer Haiti fundraisers in Canada:

Toronto: Wed, Feb 3 at the Tranzac (292 Brunswick Ave). Starting at 8:30pm. $10 or pay what you can. Hosted by Kim Katrin Crosby. Featuring Angel Hair & Unicorn Spit, Ryan G Hinds, The Bluebirds (Casey Stephanie & members of Ohbijou), Nolan Natasha and Lucas Silveira of The Cliks. See the Facebook event for details.

Montreal: An nou Rebati Ayiti! will take place at Club Lambi (4465 blvd Saint-Laurent) on Sun, Jan 31. Doors open at 7:30pm, with the show beginning at 8 pm. Tickets are by donation ($10 suggested), with no one turned away. Partners for the event include the 2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy, Arc-en-Ciel Afrique, Gay and Lesbian Asians of Montreal (GLAM), Coalition MultiMundo and QPIRG Concordia.
