ROYNATION is BACK - LIVE, HAPPY and RESTED! LIVE! at gallerywest! We start Season Two with inspiring, smart and shit disturbing guests. SARAH SCHULMAN Sarah is an American novelist, historian and playwright. An early chronicler of the AIDS crisis, she wrote on AIDS and social issues, publishing in The Village Voice in the early 1980s, and writing the first piece on AIDS and the homeless, which appeared in The Nation. Co-Founder MIX: NY LGBT Experimental Film and Video Festival, Co-Director ACT UP Oral History Project (www.actuporalhistory.org), US Coordinator of the first LGBT Delegation to Palestine. Sarah’s most recent book, Gentrification of the Mind is an intimate account where she recalls how much of the rebellious queer culture, cheap rents, and a vibrant downtown arts movement vanished almost overnight to be replaced by gay conservative spokespeople and mainstream consumerism. BRAD FRASER Predominately known for his work in the theatre as a playwright and director. Edmonton born and raised, Brad been writings plays for production since 1975, has won numerous awards and has a number of plays published. In addition to a life in the theatre, Brad writes for newspapers and magazines. He has a regular column, Fraser’s Edge in Xtra Magazine and recently had a piece published in Toronto Star on the importance of celebrities coming out. Brad was the first person ROYNATION knows to use the word “asshat” and use it well.
