The Trans Insight Project
The Trans Insight Project was started in 2008 by Heather Scott. It was conceived as a way of reducing violence against trans people, and suicide by trans people. This would be done by educating everyone about them and their issues, and debunking much of the misinformation and misconceptions surrounding the trans community.
It began with the TransInsight YouTube channel ( http://YouTube.com/TransInsight ). Then, on Jan 1 2011 the Transpedia Encyclopedia of Gender Expression and Presentation ( http://Transpedia.ca ) website went live.
Transpedia is a Wiki based site, so it it is always in need of new information. You can enter what you know from anywhere, at any time, without giving away your identity. You can also correct and clean-up any existing articles as you see fit, as long as your goal is to add something of value to this resource.
This project is not for profit, simply for education.
