Sarah Palin
Hi, I was dressed as Sarah Palin for the Colour Me Dragg show on the Church/Wellesley stage, and I was looking for the pictures taken of me and the Obama look-a-like. I was wondering how I can get those pictures? Thanks, CM

Photographer...
Hi Camilla, I'm not an Xtra photographer, but I was shooting photos at the event. You can email me at hollynorris@trentu.ca and I'll send you some of mine!

CF Participants
Did anybody get pix of the Canadian Forces people? I've actually seen very few this year, even though we tripled our turnout from last year, when I guess we were somewhat of a novelty. I did manage to take plenty myself, but unfortunately I was always on the wrong side of the camera when the shutter went off. So I'm looking for pictures of ME, the tall redhead in air force uniform.

Should I be Surprised?
Should I be surprised that there is NO coverage of the trans march, either here on the site or in your newspaper? When even, slowly mind you, the Dyke march is being corrupted by outside influences, a pure march (no floats or corporate sponsors just people on their feet with signs and banners) took place down Church Street on Friday Night with over 200 people in this march, onlookers clapping and encouraging those marching, and silence from Xtra in coverage. People who are transexual/transgender/gender queer etc. and friends/allies got together shared resources and made signs/banners. They marched with them, and together, because they understood that all in the LBGTTTIQQ community have not yet gained the same equal rights as others. Let alone the same part in Pride as others. Though Pride decided to include the march as an "official" pride event, the Trans March was created and scheduled to happen long before Pride thought of including it. And though it was included as a "pride" event, a few friends pointed out they could find no information about it on the pride website(something changeable easily) let alone on any pride materials/guide. These two things, lack of xtra coverage and pride coverage tells me the gay community have a long way to go in not being like the general "straight" community. That same community that people who are gay said were not treating them equal.

[Editor's Note]
Trans on the march
Hey "femme," thank you for your comments. But I'd like to point out that Xtra and Xtra.ca have many trans stories to check out. Xtra's first Pride issue in June had a trans man on the cover (Lucas Silveira of The Cliks) with a video interview also on Xtra.ca. We covered the Trans March both as a news story and as one of our "best of" Pride picks (see Toronto main page on Xtra.ca), in addition to stories on the trans sex worker stroll in Toronto and national updates on SRS. And look for exclusive video coverage of the Trans March coming to Xtra.ca. Keep on fighting for more and better trans representation. Thanks again for reading Xtra.

A copy?
Hi! My picture is the second one in from the Toronto Pride 2009 gallery (rainbow suspenders, purple top-hat, blue frilly underoos, sunglasses). I was told I could request a high- resolution print of the photo by the photographer. Alas, I've forgotten the appropriate channels for requesting such a thing. Who do I talk to to get a print of this photo? thanks!

More than the Parade
Doesn't anyone ever take photos of Pride other than just the parade? Like the Saturday night on Church Street for me is always the main event, but "Pride at Night" is never captured on film or featured in print. Those are the moments I wish I could remember, Pride is not all about Sunday afternoon.
