Amethyst Women's Addiction Centre was the first addiction treatment centre of its kind in Canada when it opened its doors in 1979 in Ottawa, Ontario. The centre, a non-profit charitable organization, was founded in order to provide community-based treatment services to address the unique issues affecting women coping with substance abuse. Located at 488 Wilbrod Street.
