The place of kd lang among Canada’s best musicians will be cemented on April 21 when she is inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

Lang, who has been called the poster girl for the "lesbian-chic" scene of the 1990s, will receive the honour at the 42nd annual Juno Awards, being held this year in Regina.

“To be included in the lineage of Canadian artists who have formed my musical DNA and who remain my mentors is beyond humbling,” she said in a press release.

Lang, who has won eight Junos and four Grammy awards, has had a varied musical career; she's dabbled in numerous genres, from bossa nova to blues.

Her most recent release, Sing It Loud, was a return to her country roots. Below is an interview Xtra did with lang shortly after the album came out. Below that is a video from her performance at Luminato in 2011.

KD is food.
I love K.D.! A glass of wine, dimmed lights, K.D. singing "The Air that I Breathe" gently in the background and snuggled up with my lovey.
