A proposed white supremacist rally in Vancouver failed to materialize on March 21.

Hundreds of anti-racist activists gathered at the Braid SkyTrain station in New Westminster to counter a planned "Advocates for White Civil Rights" rally. The white pride rally was set to coincide with the International Day for the Elimination of Racism.

Tensions rose when two men passing through the station allegedly spat on one of the anti-racist signs. The men denied accusations that they were affiliated with the white supremacist group.

"I hate all races equally," said one of the men, as he waited for a train. "But I don't like gay people, that's for sure."

Not A Racist?
Someone should have told this young man that hating one race or many races isn't the dividing line on what makes you a racist. A racist discriminates against people based on their RACE. So even if he hates all of them equally he is still a racist! Not to mention that he claims to have been verbally assualted by the anti racist protesters when in fact HE crossed the station to accost the protesters and was heard to ask "wheres my brothers at?" Add in the fact that this same pair had passed through the station twice in the space of half an hour and had in both instances been heard making bigoted racist comments and challenging anti racist activists and it certainly leaves room for doubt as to the validity of his claims that he wasn't a white power protester.

Hateful violent leftists
There is nothing more hateful and violent than a leftist. Leftists also oppose freedom of speech and freedom of assembly. These disgusting leftists were on full display at Braid Station.

Proud to be Everything the Right Wing Hates
Hateful and violent you say? Well I would be considered to be, at the very least, left leaning and I along with many of my fellow "leftists" are proudly non-violent except in cases of self defence. As to being hateful, perhaps some are so without provocation, but I have to say Ron, how cold and uncaring is the person who isn't prone to hatred when a group of people such as the "Advocates for White Civil Rights" try to plan an event that not only violates the hate crime laws of this country but also openly endorses violence and hatred against not only people of other nations but also against gay people? I don't know about anyone else here, but as someone who has been the victim of a hate crime and has lost a friend to anti gay violence, I couldn't look at myself in the mirror if I didn't stand up and say "No". If the fact that that "no" came out through my physically protecting my city and my friends by assembling with my comrades makes me a leftist then thank you and I'm damn proud of it! Oh and just to clarify one small point, I am not trying to squash freedom of speech or right to assembly just the spread of un-needed, imbicilic, bigoted hate mongering.

This shows what cowards racists and Nazis really are. They didn't show up because they're scared of the anti-racist demonstrators. Kudos to the anti-racist antdemonstrators at Braid Stn., who protested against racist bigotry. As for the guy who said he hates all races equally, he's nothing more than a loser, his attitude shows it. All racists and homophobes are idiots.
