On July 17, Poland became the first Eastern European country to host EuroPride. Despite threats of violence and strong opposition from conservative and Catholic leaders, the EuroPride parade made its way through the streets of Warsaw.

Join the modern world.
If countries such as Poland and Russia want to truly join the modern world of the 21st century they will have to shed their backward looking attitudes -- religious, social and economic. They are free of communism but they cling to autocracy.
