ELEVEN YEARS LATER. Matthew Shepard was murdered in Laramie Wyoming in 1998.

Eleven years ago today, Oct 6 1998, in Laramie Wyoming, Matthew Shepard was beaten and left for dead by a pair of homophobic thugs.
Shepard’s story galvanized communities of gay people in the US and around the world and he became a posterboy against homophobic violence.
