I Want Your Love straddles the worlds of gay porn and dramatic cinema to produce a very hot and intimate film.

“There is explicit sex and there is a lot of naturalism and intimacy that I try to underscore throughout,” says director Travis Mathews.

Mathews got early backing for the film from NakedSword, a gay-porn production company.

The film follows Jesse, a 20-something hipster living in San Francisco who is pulling up stakes to move back to Ohio. But first there is a goodbye tour and some sex to be had.

I Want Your Love will screen Aug 18, 2012, at the Vancouver Queer Film Festival.

Below, Peter Knegt, who had a bit part in the film, interviews Mathews.

gaytransmalegenital representations?
We assume that this movie includes extensive representations of gaytransmale sexualities and post-gender intimacies or is this another gay fear of alternative maled genitalia? Call out and beat down any gay art that leaves transmale genitalia excluded and marginalized within larger post-cisnormative, alterna-maled and queered communities.

Why rely on a cis guy to portray trans sexuality?
If you are a gay trans male who wants to see your sexuality on the big screen, then pick up a camera and DIY. Because sure as hell, if a cis filmmaker attempted to tell a story about trans guys, there would be a dozen people excoriating him here for having the gall to try.

navelgazing bullshit
Patrick is right. "stop ignoring/marginizing/invisibizing us" becomes "stop appropriating us" real fast. Never happy, nothing is ever correct. Is Loogie making a funny or is that serious? The general rule of thumb, politeness really, is to call people what they call themselves. I don't know anyone who calls themselves "cis" so please stop aiming that word-as-weapon at me and my cis-ters. And "cisnormative?" Oh, fuck off! I'm starting to think that these gender studies departments produce navel-gazing self-obsessed me-too victimization. I have yet to see much evidence that they contribute to the kind of clear thinking we're going to need in the resource-deprived years ahead.
