In the two-part video series below, Xtra takes viewers behind the scenes in the gay porn industry for a rare discussion about barebacking.

Pornstars such as Sage Daniels, Diesel Washington, Jason Adonis, Francesco D'Macho and Rusty Stevens talk openly about the threats and rewards of condomless sex. 

Producers Tim Valenti, from NakedSword; Chi Chi LaRue; and Stephan Sirard, from FCF Talent Agency, talk about what responsibility they have in this growing trend.

We are all Hypocrites.
Great expose. The same people that say to always use a condom in porn are the ones that escort on the side. Doing porn in any capacity leads to the same place; mental degradation, substance abuse, health risks and escorting. My advice is stay away from these sexual capitalists. But I like porn, so really I am part of the problem. Just be safe doing porn and while escorting guys.

This is free speech and freedom of expression. If these studios want to make bareback porn then they can and no one is forcing to watch it or even buy it.

Hypocrisy
Many performers who work for safe sex companies are HIV positive. How come that they get infected? Because they will only work for safe sex companies you would think that they practice safe sex in their privates lifes. The hypocrisy in the gay porn industry is baffling. I wonder what the HIV status is of the models that appear in these clips. Promiscuity, drugs abuse and hedonism are big problems in the gay community and if we don't adress these problems the HIV epidemic will continue to rage.

Oh please
It baffles me when people make ridiculous generalizations like doing porn leads to mental degradation. Knowing many people in the industry that kind of comment pisses me off. Like any other industry, why you do it is way more important than what you do. Some of the coolest most together people I know are involved in porn. Get OVER your own guilt and hang ups about sex and you might just understand a little more about yourself and not have to project your crap onto others!

Guilt is not useful
I agree with Murray. Waiting tables can lead to degradation, as can many other jobs in the service industry with low pay and little chance for any kind of personal autonomy. Porn is not without risks that attend many industries, and it would be wise to have another career in waiting once the bloom of youth wears off (though some survive that and transition into different genres of porn). Some come out damaged but others do not, and these sorts of generalizations don't do anything but cast a negative pall over all involved and really, what good is that if we're trying to have a modern day discussion about what has become a mainstream industry, complete with award shows and actor-directors? Barebacking is a concern, of course, but so is working on a construction site or serving in the military with substandard equipment. Risk management by harm reduction is the name of the game.

Studio that use condoms are just as bad
They go to great lengths when filming to disguise the fact that condoms are being used, sometimes going so far as to have actors roll the condom only halfway up their dicks so that you never see it while they are fucking. If bareback videos are sending the wrong message, then so are videos intended to create the illusion of barebacking, and as much as Ms. LaRue gets on her high horse about condom use, her films are some of the worst offenders.

The Insanity
The insanity of it all is the large amount of porn stars in gay and straight porn that virtually disappear, commit suicide, or jump off the deep end into drug use. Also the other INSANE things going on behind closed doors which the companies and actors are doing for extra money. Most of the actors have hiv due to their unsafe personal lives and the unsafe shit they do while on drugs. While the condom only studios are laughable at best, the bareback porn to me is disgusting when they glorify loads. The porn industry is a dangerous place and leads to so many deaths that I can no longer watch a porn without saying "I See dead people"

Next time Xtra wants to do an expose on barebacking perhaps they could hire a guy instead of a gal who desperately tries to look like a guy. You wouldn't have a guy interviewing lesbians on the techniques cunnilingus so why have a gal do a bareback expose? Her "oh my god" looks to the camera when interviewing the lone porn actor who does bareback should have had her immediately fired and the whole thing re-shot.

Im sure Xtra reached out to more people on the pro side of bareback porn but with only one person speaking up for it the arguments presented were extremely one sided. My god, porn stars are role models!?!? that is the most laughably stupid, not to mention saddest, thing ive ever heard.
