Pregnant Man can't get divorced because of transphobic judge

Thomas Beatie, aka "Pregnant Man," is unable to divorce his wife, Nancy, because an Arizona judge has decided that their marriage wasn't valid in the first place, since Thomas has female organs and same-sex marriage isn't legal in the state of Arizona.

This comes after another judge granted Thomas full custody of the couple's three children in May after a viral video showed Nancy acting like a drunk attention whore and breaking their computer while "endangering" their children. Personally, I thought the video was more pathetic and funny than alarming . . .

The video was the catalyst for their divorce, which a judge argues isn't possible because Thomas has a womb and has birthed three children, so he is not really male, despite the fact that both his American passport and his Hawaiian birth certificate list him as one.

Thomas, who was born Tracy Lagondino, says he always felt he was the wrong gender and started transitioning in his 20s. He had a mastectomy to remove his breasts but opted to keep his female organs. On The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2008 Thomas said, "I wanted to have a child one day. I didn't know how. It was just a dream." After being artificially inseminated, Thomas's dream came true, and in 2007 he gave birth to the couple's first child.

Thomas has talked openly about how, because of testosterone injections, his clitoris has grown into a small penis, which he is able to use during sex. But even though he has a dick and is legally identified as male, TMZ reports that the judge refused to preside over the divorce because he "cannot find any legal authority which defines a man as someone who is able to give birth."

The high moral standards of a transphobic beauty queen

Miss Pennsylvania, Sheena Monnin, has come out swinging against both the Miss Universe competition and transgender contestant Jenna Talackova.

She wrote on her Facebook page, "Effective immediately I have voluntarily, completely, and utterly removed myself from the Miss Universe Organization. In good conscience I can no longer be affiliated in any way with an organization I consider to be fraudulent, lacking in morals, inconsistent, and in many ways trashy. I refuse to be part of a pageant system that has so far and so completely removed itself from its foundational principles as to allow and support natural born males to compete in it. This goes against every moral fiber of my being." She adds, "In my heart I believe in honesty, fair play, a fair opportunity, and high moral integrity, none of which in my opinion are apart of this pageant system any longer."

She also claims that Miss Universe is rigged and that she saw a list containing the names of the final five contestants while the competition was still ongoing.

This dumb bitch has more Botox in her head than brain cells and has taken the term "sore loser" to a whole other level. If she really believed in "fair opportunity" she would've not only supported Jenna, but competed without the help of a plastic surgeon.

Donald Trump, who owns the Miss Universe organization, has said he plans to take legal action against Sheena for talking shit about his pageant (but, of course, could care less that she's talking shit about Jenna).

"We're going to be suing her now," Donald said about the allegations. Why sue her, Donald? Just send your immoral sons to hunt her like helpless animals in a gated African reserve. I hear they're quite good at that. "She made a very false charge and she knows it's a false charge," he continued. A very false charge, ladies and gentlemen, not just a false false charge! You know what that means: Donald Jr and Eric are sharpening their pitchforks!

Sorry, Miss Pennsylvania, but at least the elephants and leopards are safe today. Better you than them, as far as I'm concerned. "I have no shame, I hunt and eat game fake baked bigots!"

Jenna Talackova: Miss Congeniality

Transgender beauty queen Jenna Talackova, who was unceremoniously dropped from the Miss Universe Canada competition for being born male before finally being allowed to compete, didn't make the top five at yesterday's competition, which took place in Toronto. The winner was Sahar Biniaz from Vancouver. Jenna walked away with a four-way tie for Miss Congeniality.

In my opinion, Jenna's the true winner, for her pioneering civil rights efforts. Her famous lawyer, Gloria Allred, who flew from Los Angeles to Toronto to watch Jenna compete, couldn't agree more and feels that "Canada is the gold standard as far as I'm concerned" when it comes to transgender rights. She also put pressure on Donald Trump, who heads the Miss Universe competitions, by saying, "We would like Donald Trump to be the leader in the civil rights battle and say that even if there are no laws protecting against discrimination we -- the Miss Universe Organization -- we are going to lead the way and say that it is wrong to discriminate."

According to Miss Universe president Paula Shugar, "If you are legally recognized in your country and you've had your surgery and been through everything, you'd be able to compete in your country's pageant."

So in other words, Miss Universe only feels the need to do the right thing in countries where it's illegal not to.

As for her journey, which has been full of ups and downs, Jenna told reporters in Toronto this week, "You don't get the sun without the rain. That's how my story went."

Donald Trump vs Gloria Allred

Donald Trump has spoken about the Jenna Talackova Miss Universe Canada ordeal, telling Good Morning America, "I did not know that she [Jenna] had a lawyer, and especially Gloria Allred. In fact, had I known it was Gloria Allred, I probably would not have reversed my decision because, you know, Gloria is easy to beat."

Oh, please. Were you living under a rock when your organization was sued by a competitor and one of the most high-profile attorneys in the United States? Sounds like someone's playing stupid to save face. What's the matter, Donald? Upset you were beat by two girls?

He went on to say, "The fact is, we went by the laws of the country, and the laws are very clear, and, based on that, about two days ago, we decided to let her compete. [Jenna] should focus on running up in Canada and seeing how she does in Canada. And then, if she does well, she has a chance to become what many, many young women all over the world want to be, and that's Miss Universe that should be her focus."

Gloria Allred was quick to release a statement reminding us that Donald Trump is no hero, because in other countries where it is legal to demand that a contestant be born "naturally female," the Miss Universe Competition still upholds this rule. She sent RadarOnline an email stating:

“Trump has conceded that he cannot keep Jenna out of the competition because it would violate both US and Canadian laws. Trump’s rule of requiring that a contestant be a ‘naturally' born female appears to still be in effect in other countries around the world. We want Mr Trump to eliminate this rule for the entire Miss Universe organization everywhere in the world, but he has not yet agreed to do so. His latest statement is that the rule is being ‘evaluated’ by his organization. There is no need to further ‘evaluate’.  The rule is blatantly discriminatory, and it is time for Mr Trump to say that he will get rid of the rule.”

Transgender beauty queen allowed to compete in Miss Universe competition

The Miss Universe Organization has felt the pressure and finally relented on their decision to disqualify British Columbia native Jenna Talackova from the Miss Universe Canada competition. GLAAD laid on the heat, but the last straw might've been when Jenna hired attorney Gloria Allred. That's one woman you don't want to mess with! She has every trash rag and blogger on speed dial. Gloria held a press conference with Jenna, and my guess is the bad publicity was more than the competition wanted to deal with. I wish I could say I believe they had a genuine change of heart, but this seems like some PR backtracking to me. It's still a victory, and an example of the kind of change our community is able to create when we join forces and refuse to eat the bullshit we're being fed.

Miss Universe Canada released a statement saying:

"The Miss Universe Organization will allow Jenna Talackova to compete in the 2012 Miss Universe Canada pageant provided she meets the legal gender recognition requirements of Canada, and the standards established by other international competitions."
