Have you seen HIM out?

Did you survive the Olympic weekend? Barely? Tell me about it. The hockey loss, Atlantic Canada House, Swiss House, Mark Tewksbury, Granville Street, LiveCity Yaletown, Granville Island, Place de la Francophonie, the Air Canada stage, Pride House, the BC-Canada Pavilion, You Gotta Be OUT Here gala...

I'm glad I mentioned that. Some of the Gay Top Model contestants were in attendence at said gala, which was a Province of BC-sponsored event showcasing the best of Vancouver's LGBT arts and entertainment community:

In other news, the Health Initiative for Men has launched a new Public Displays of Gay poster campaign and timed it with the Olympics to ensure that gay people visiting the city feel welcome, while also promoting Canada's inclusive, diverse society to visitors from places where gay love may not even be legal.

To quote him: "The campaign, which includes gay couples embracing on different corners in the city, was put together with a very small budget.  The models and photographer donated their time and Priape, a gay and bisexual men’s lifestyle store, helped sponsor the campaign. A team of volunteers will distribute the posters to shops, businesses and poster boards along pedestrian-filled streets over the next three weeks."

Men's Figure Skating Tonight

If you caught the men's short program on Tuesday, you'll know we're in for a spicy night. Canada's Patrick Chan is heading into the night in 7th place:

I'm giving you a licence to ass-kick, Patrick.

2pac's licence to be precise.

As much as I love Patty Cakes, all eyes are going to be on USA's Johnny Weir:

Meeeeeyowsah! So tune in and prepared to be amazed by the Glambert on ice!

Tuesday Hotness - Chatroulette

"Chatroulette is a brand new service for one-on-one text-, webcam- and microphone-based chat with people around the world." - http://chatroulette.com/

You know what that means. Unrestricted web-space for guys and girls to take their clothes off and expose themselves to random strangers from around the world. Seriously, here is a shot from a site that's been compiling "interesting" chatroulette.com experiences:

Now, yes, you can log on and talk to people you would probably never meet otherwise. But really, you will see a lot more than that. A LOT MORE. TRUST ME.

I'm going to check out the following show tonight as part of the Cultural Olympiad. Maybe you should too:

Olympic Weekend - GOLD!!!!

So how many of you haven't been able to get Constant Craving out of your head since kd lang took the world stage at the Opening Ceremonies on Friday? Holy shit. She killed it! SO PROUD! And the level of amazingness that followed in Vancouver. I don't even have words for it.

I am a big Canada fan, people. Let's be honest: I can't watch most of the Olympic coverage without getting all teary-eyed. The forest part of the Opening Ceremonies...<tear>...the Prairies tribute featuring Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" <tear>...Jennifer Heil, Kristina Goves winning medals...<cheering>...Seriously, congrats to our first two medalists. And for Alexandre Bilodeau...I'm devoting this post to Canada's first Golden Boy on home soil.

He won the men's moguls on Cypress Mountain last night and probably a lot of hearts across the country. If you were in Vancouver, you would've heard the city explode. And listen: the guy even started crying talking to reporters when talking about his win and his relationship with his brother.

Congratulations, Alexandre!

And here's an interesting profile on some out lesbian athletes competing at these games.

I've got a lot planned this week on Up Your Alley. I managed to capture an exclusive video interview with Russell Small from The Freemasons when he played Celebrities on Saturday night. That was an UBELIEVEABLE DJ set so make sure you check out some of Celebrities upcoming Olympic shows. I'm aiming to have it edited and ready this week.

In the meantime, see you out there!

GO, CANADA!!!
