The gays are on TV more than ever

Nielsen has released a report titled "The New Mainstream" that reveals that 28 percent of all shows on prime-time TV have queer characters, more than ever before. One in four scripted shows and one in five reality shows in the 2010/2011 season have gay characters, actors or storylines. Shows that are in on the homo action include Glee, Modern Family, Grey's Anatomy, 90210, House, Dancing with the Stars and Big Brother 12.

Neilsen's Matt O'Grady said in a release that "the inclusion of LGBT characters on TV more accurately portrays the diverse and multicultural society we live in by encompassing all segments of the population."

Lesbian couple crowned Homecoming King and Queen

Long live the Homo-coming King and Queen! Rebecca Arellano made history by becoming the first girl in San Diego to receive the Homecoming King title, while her girlfriend, Haileigh Adams, won Homecoming Queen. The best part is, they won to ecstatic applause from their peers. "They were chanting my name, and it was the most surreal experience I've ever had," Arellano told KGTV News. Even school staff are celebrating, with one teacher telling them, "Today, school is a bit better because of you girls." Werk, werk, werk. This is the future. The kids got this shit covered. Peace, love and no fear.

Madonna rules the world

Madonna is making new music and it's going to be epic. This woman has more intelligence and talent than any other artist. People always talk about Michael Jackson being a musical genius, and yes, he was incredible (when he wasn't sucking nine-year-old peen), but he didn't come close to achieving Madonna's consistency. She's like a dom top that never gets tired of fucking her public's brains out. She's relentless. And 30 years later, she is the only pop star from the 20th century to still be as relevant post-millennium.

William Orbit tweeted, "Madonna has phenomenal understanding of both the minutiae of music and the big picture. Zooming in, zooming out. 4ever amazing. Plus VISION!!! Working with Madonna is a treat. Fantastic tracks and vibes. Going deep. She's ON IT !!! This is THE album!"

UFC president encourages gay fighters to come out

UFC president Dana White has spoken out in support of gay fighters. "I'll tell you right now, if there's a gay fighter in the UFC, I wish he would come out," White said during an interview. "I could care less if there is a gay fighter in the UFC. There probably is, and there is probably more than one."

White was responding to complaints by the Las Vegas Culinary Union and other organizations that have filed reports and created online positions against the UFC for what they consider homophobic conduct. The complaints often cite Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira as an example of homophobia in the UFC. Nogueira has made statements saying that he would allow a gay fighter to train at his academy, but he personally would not want to train with him. White has also been accused of homophobia in the past and was caught on film directing anti-gay slurs at a reporter in 2009. Shortly after, he released an apology.

"If you guys look at the stuff I've said over the past 10 years -- some of it stupid, some of it whatever -- that [the video in which he makes the slurs] is the one thing that bothers me," White said about accusations that he's homophobic. "That's the one thing that bothers me -- the fact that these culinary losers can go out and say I'm a homophobe and things like that, because it's the furthest from the truth."

Obviously, it's not the furthest thing from the truth if you were caught on camera using words that are derogatory to homosexuals, but we all make mistakes. Since the UFC appeals primarily to straight boys butch lesbians, I think it's cool that White is evolved enough to not only apologize for his faults, but to encourage his fighters to be themselves.

Gwyneth Paltrow, January Jones among stars up for Grace Kelly role

Grace Kelly was a real-life fairytale, an American actress who married royalty, becoming Princess of Monaco. Rumours around Hollywood are that a biopic about Kelly's life is in the works, and the question on everyone's mind is who will play the coveted role? Gwyneth Paltrow, January Jones, Charlize Theron, Blake Lively, Cate Blanchett and Carey Mulligan are all in the running. Personally, I think Cate's too old, Blake isn't pretty enough, and Carey is a bore. I really think January Jones should get this one. If you've ever seen her in Mad Men, she possesses the dignified charm and elegance that made Kelly legendary. I could also see Charlize and Gwyneth in the part, but they're getting a little old, too. I think youth is important when casting, because Grace was only 33 when she died in a car crash in Monaco. Her youngest daughter, Princess Stephanie, was in the car with her, but survived.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the film, tentatively titled Grace of Monaco, will be similar in style to The King's Speech. The film will be set in 1962 and will cover a six-month period where French President Charles de Gaulle was displeased with Monaco's position as a tax haven for the wealthy.
