Before we begin, I'm just going to ask everyone to not even try to act like you guys have no idea who Honey Boo Boo Child is. She's fucking everywhere right now, and even if you haven't watched the show, you've probably read something somewhere about how she's the downfall of Western culture/the messiah of reality-TV/both.

Anyway, RuPaul reportedly has a duet album in the works, and she's already eyeing Honey Boo Boo Child as a potential duets partner down the line.

“She is real, she is lovely, she’s funny,” he gushed. “She doesn’t take herself seriously. The whole family doesn’t take themselves seriously. It’s really just good fun. I love anybody who dances to the beat of a different drummer.” RuPaul admits to identifying with the girl, even admitting that she would totally beat him in a drag fashion walk-off! “Honey Boo Boo is there,” RuPaul said. “She is the queen. She understands what drag is. That’s what pageants are. That’s why pageants are so lovely.” (via VH1)

I'll be the first to admit that Honey Boo Boo is a sweet enough little girl. I mean, the family is dumb and trashy, but at least they're not outwardly awful to each other. They're redneck hicks, but they're sweet, and sweet's not a bad thing.

That being said, it's a stretch to say Honey Boo Boo understands drag culture. I mean, the girl is six. SIX. At that age, the only thing you understood is that Play-Doh smells awesome but tastes gross, duckies go quack, and Bill Nye the Science Guy is the greatest person to ever live. I don't think HBBC understands drag culture, or even what she's doing. I think she's just a little girl who likes playing dress-up and having fun. Let's not read further into that than we have to. That being said, we do need a RuPaul/HBBC duet. That needs to happen.
