Sure, Rob Ford is taking away our bike lanes, Rupert Murdoch is wiping his ass with the concept of journalistic integrity, and Kim Kardashian is still a thing, but there's some good news in all of this:
Don't Ask, Don't Tell has finally been repealed, which means gays can serve openly in the military!
As someone with family currently serving overseas, this is probably for the best. While they're all straight (as far as I can tell), one of my uncles did have a tendency to do this thing when he got drunk at Christmas: he'd stick a broom between his legs so the bristles were sticking out of his butt and he'd walk around pretending there was a Roman centurion up his ass and... You know what? I'm just going to shut up about that now. Point is, if you're gay, you can now serve openly in the military, and that's pretty cool.
