If you even read anything that George Orwell has ever written he is talking about such as people in the West defending a society even if they know they would be sent to jail or even killed in that society they are defending. People did the same when defending the Soviet Union and the QuAIA is really no different and are the same trolls who did it then are doing today.

Also the QuAIA are "screening" Candidates and in this case they are clearly doing they are basically choosing the people who only represent their own political interests only and Xtra seems to be in bed with them and playing into their games.

Also you said to me "Shut the Fuck up?" really talk about censorship are you trying to silence opposition. The last time I check it is a right in any democracy to oppose so if you want to silence me or anyone you will have a hard time since it's basically a right in this country. You don't think that Pride Toronto isn't promoting their political agenda in their actions? That the actual censorious groups in this mess (ie. deeply conservative, right-wing, pro-Israel lobbyist groups) aren't actively promoting their political agenda?

Your own writing clearly reveals your political agenda and hate for QuAIA, smearing the group with lies (they want to "control and alienate an entire ethic group"), fomenting hysteria ("death cult," really?) and parroting pro-Israeli propaganda.

You complete your hysterical rant with the requisite bashing of Xtra: if you think that Xtra's position has somehow changed or is new, then you're clearly ignorant of history as well. Xtra and PTP have long supported free speech, which is the core issue here. A group of decidedly anti-LGBT forces are actively trying to censor a group of queers for expressing legal, legitimate speech that these forces find uncomfortable. That's the battle being fought.

Queers Against the Islamo-Fascist Queer Holocaust will be holding a burning of Qur'ans at next year's Pride.

This will be to draw attention to the plight of homosexuals and transsexuals in the Islamic World. We know that this is a provocative act, but the plight of these people means that we must be up in your face about their oppression.

And remember, it's not about your subjective reaction to the burning of the Qur'An. It's about Freedom of Expression. We are very excited to have the Pride Coalition for Free Expression on board with us, honouring their commitment to freedom of speech and all forms of queer expression.

The PT Directors panel discussion last night was civil.
No one insulted anyone. They stated their opinions in a clear calm fashion. It was easy to follow. They showed their humanity with some humour. They showed that they were knowledgeable by providing pertinent details. The panelists and the questioners were respectful and honest in providing and clarifying information. These are obviously educated and cultured men. Why not follow their example with commentary? Enough of the rabid pitbull ranting and personal insults--from both sides.

The anti-QuAIA forces however, were perfectly willing to destroy the Pride Parade (via pressure on sponsors and City Council) to prevent a minor fringe group (QuAIA) from voicing legitimate criticism of a state's domestic policies.
