Poutine and the dream

A list of the best foods in the world was recently put together by surveying a bunch of, I dunno, foodies? Check out #44: Poutine, Canada...

That's right: three out of the 50 best are from MTL, y'all.

Val Desjardins, co-owner of The Royal Phoenix, said that the bar's menu has just launched and reflects what she totally wants to eat all of the time. Like poutines and fucking po' boys. (That's short for a poor boy sandwich, whitey.) She can't really eat them all day as she's gotta train for the Roller Derby World Cup in Toronto. She's one of the 12 chosen to represent us on Team Canada.

Matthew Shepard was a friend of hers

Matthew Shepard's friends and family are finally ready to talk about him. After 12 years, they are making a film that looks pretty amazing. Even the cinematography looks nice, which is a rarity in docs. If you'll recall, Shepard was beaten to death in a small Wyoming town called Laramie. He was robbed of $20 and his shoes, tied to a picket fence in the desert and left to perish. Eighteen hours later, he did just that. Back their project on Kickstarter

Gay dialects

Do you ever wonder how gay men get that particular intonation? Like how did they all decide that there would be code, or a gay dialect, for gay men to find each other? It's one of those belonging things isn't it? I mean, I just said it: TO FIND EACH ODDER. Case in point, also, like, why do lesbians cut their hair short and wear tees with ironic messages on them and wear Toms of Maine deodorant and eat mega hummus for breakfast, lunch and dinner? (Just kidding, I only eat it for a midnight snack, or to wax with, duh.)

Anyway, food for thought! Let this image of that Kurt or Kirk or whatever his name is from Glee guide and inspire your opinion.... He has such great hair.
