Also, this dude is a jerk. But we already knew that. Fiddy, on Twitter,
"urged
gay men to commit suicide."
50
Cent's anti-gay Twitter rant. Two young women, dating each
other, killed themselves. The
details
are murky. Dan Savage
tells the young how it will get better and how it did for him and his partner. Mind you, that is with the help of affluence and mainstream acceptance. But I applaud the effort. If it leads to one less suicide or a little bit less heart heaviness, then his viral video campaign will have been worth it. Vigils are planned in major cities (probably where they will serve the least). Montreal's is this Wednesday, Oct 6, 8 pm at Parc de l'Espoir near Beaudry Metro on Ste-Catherine's. (

The suicides need to stop. An organizer from P10, a youth organization based here in the city, mentioned on FB that this entire discourse on bullying leading to suicide is a way to move the conversation around and away from the fact that this violence is very explicitly targeted at people moving beyond socially prescribed gender norms. Contact P10 here. They help the youth folk. Here's a message from Sarah Silverman.

HELLO HUMPDAY, HOW ARE YOU. HERE ARE SOME BRIEFS FOR YOU SEXY FOLKS.
MAKING SEXY TIME
The innernets has some interesting sex content this week, on account of the Valentard day. Some of my picks...
Greening vibrators, Travelling with sex toys (airport security epic shy moment but legal.) The Gazette also runs a worthwhile piece on why global attention should not be shifting away from the AIDS crisis. I've also been listening to Dan Savage's podcast and IT'S DOPE. Please listen to the latest, where he fulminated against the WINE-ing and (epic) DINE-ing damage lovers sometimes do on v-day. His point is that it's anti-climactic to a good sex scene with your partner BECAUSE YOU'RE FULL AND BURPY. I agree, bone on an empty stomache!
GUNZ
Look at these silly girls. I heard they make journalism, also.
Also, which is the gayest holiday? Halloween, Valentine's day or maybe is it, like the internet is telling me, Thanksgivings? Or the obvious choice, Easter? PRAISE.

repost from a missing earlier post... our IT team is working on recovering the original post but for now, here is the gist of what I previously wrote. Thanks to reader E.D. for spotting!
Greening vibrators!
Dan Savage talks about the perils of WINE-ing and DINE-ing your date on Valentine's. Which should be, really, just an excuse to fuck. Click to download podcast.

Below, some seasonal news about Tegan and Sara (who roll into town Jan 18) but before i get to that a very important cautionary tale. On a recent Dan Savage podcast (Dec 24) he encouraged his audience to get out of the house. It's not gonna get any better if you stay inside the house he said, with his usual adorable gusto. And his advice holds true for this time of year too—on NYE, there are tons of single gays just waiting to take you home or at least have a drink and a chat with you. But that can't happen if you're at home feeling shitty about yourself. So leave! And listen to Savage's podcast, it's brill:

Meanwhile, Tegan and Sara are in the studio with Margaret Cho doing God knows what.
HOW AWESOME IS TEGAN'S EXPRESSION RIGHT NOW THO F'REALS???
