2fik: 2legit 2 quit

Back in September, the SPark Safari happened featuring many queer artists from Montreal including 2Fik. An urban artsy thang, the event was a mulitdisciplinary experiment created by Studio 303, of which Miriam Ginestier is the director.

Here's a sample of 2Fik's performance too, just came to the innernets recently...

My future ex-girlfriend: all three members of MEN

Because why not?

Don't you love her? The MENs, they are rubbing up against each other. And also, JD Samson dancing is pretty much the most amazing thing ever. The End.

Panacea: Queer, trans theory and a banana cupcake or six

Two things today, both of local, national and international importance: Vivi + banana cupcakes. (we won't talk about our neighbours just a lil bit over in that other province [the other white meat?], who saw a homozesual mayoral candidate defeated last night in favour of homophobia a Straight White Male).

So let's make banana cupcakes with a carob frosting instead. GIRLS WHO EAT THEIR FEELINGS MUCH?  Also, Viviane Namaste was awarded the prize last night, the one I told you about in an earlier posting, for her work in the academic field of queer and trans theory.

Politikal trans identities 4 lyfe

PolitiQ made sure they underlined Stop Trans Pathologization 2010 this past Saturday with their peaceful demonstration in support of depathologization of trans identities. Here's the English video from the creators of the day ('Merican!)
and here are politiQ, last July, at their demo (that I covered for Xtra, Quebec trans folk demand easier process for legally changing name):
